Interstate transportation of the kidnap victim before the rape and murder. “On October 25, 2001, Nelson pled guilty in the U.S. District Court
for the Western District of Missouri to the kidnapping and unlawful interstate transportation of a child for the purpose of sexual abuse which resulted in death, and he was sentenced to death.”

Wish we could do the same to moms who murder their babies.
I do wonder if he had ineffective assistance of counsel. He copped a plea and still got the death penalty.
It’s a start!
1999.
An old girlfriend who worked in Child Protective Services and who had extensive experience working in sex crime investigations offered her opinion that many sex offenders cannot be rehabilitated. She suggested sterilization may be the only alternative.
“Questions about whether the drug caused pain prior to death had been a focus of appeals for Nelson, 45”
I hope he was asking for the most painful, slow, terror-ridden death possible...just like his little innocent victim.
A few days ago I had a procedure done. It was my first time under general anesthesia. One moment I was there, the next was more than an hour later. Completely without any sense of drifting to sleep. It’s hard to believe that lethal injection could somehow be more painful. If were going to dispatch the condemned, it’s a merciful way to do it.
It says the crime was committed in 1999, which means that he had 21 years more of life than the child he murdered. He should have been gone by 2000...20 years ago.
Come now, let’s be sensitive here. This judge was fearing the drug could be harmful to the convicted. /s/
The girl was kidnapped from Kansas City, Kansas and her body was found in Grain Valley, Missouri, making it an interstate crime and therefore a Federal crime.
“You make it sound like we won a football game. A little girl was raped and murdered. Act appropriately.”
Well said.
“Questions about whether the drug caused pain prior to death had been a focus of appeals for Nelson”
Honestly, don’t care if he felt pain.
I hope it hurt a lot.
I hope he felt more terror than his victim did.
Recidivism of Nelson has become 0%.
I knew the air outside smelled cleaner and fresher. This explains it.
Let’s do some more.
Dead, soulless eyes.
“She suggested sterilization may be the only alternative.”
A majority of the states that do what can be considered sterilization choose the vasectomy. That will, in most cases, not allow the criminal to procreate. But the action of removing the ability of procreating is not the answer. In all cases, unless the psychological oversteps the capacity of the rapist, they can still perform to a degree and probably no worse than if they had not had he surgery. The rape will still occur for these people and the following violence will continue.
Sexual assault is not sexual, it is violence. It is a mental act, not a physical one. It is no different than slapping the child around, just more violent and degrading.

Also, in a lot of cases, the male attacker is unable to finish the assault due to insufficiency. He is so busy doing the violence there never is a sexual response. Violence, not sexuality.
