I, also, believe that every last rioter have their property, and bank accounts seized, for reparations to all the business owners’ losses.

I don’t believe we ever had any other than the Communist Control Act of 1954, which only banned a specific Communist party that was controlled by Moscow. Only 2 members of the House voted against it. It was never enforced an ruled unconst by a district court judge.
Dewey and Stassen famously debated the issue in 1948, Dewey taking the “don’t ban” position was regarded as the winner, I heard a little of it, he sounded good, but we know Stassen had the right of it. The whole thing is on you tube.
The debate however overly focused on a pending bill in Congress that would not really have banned communism.
