Transcripts of e-mails from employees of the US Embassy in Kyiv, received at the request of the human rights organization Judicial Watch, indicate that the embassy tracked 13 Twitter accounts in the spring of 2019, Ukrainian News reported.
Fox News reports that the monitoring was carried out in relation to mainly journalists who asked questions about Russia, the activities of former Vice President Joe Biden and other sensitive topics, which in turn could harm the reputation of people from the previous Obama - Biden - Clinton administration.
As previously stated by non-factional MP Andriy Derkach, the US Embassy in 2016, through the hands of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) supervised by them, collected personal information on the ex-Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin, as well as his family members. The embassy also coordinated with NABU a draft suspicion of the ex-head of the State Fiscal Service Roman Nasirov, who was detained just after a trip to the inauguration of the newly elected Donald Trump.
Also, according to the information of Derkach, the US Embassy in Kyiv exerts pressure on Office of the Prosecutor General and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as investigators and procedural leaders in order to terminate the investigation of criminal proceedings No. 12020800000000444 against officials of the IDLO office in Ukraine and LLC Symetriks-Ukraine.
I think the term is spying.
