Nancy Pelosi in hot water after visiting salon with Fresno ties
FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has been advocating for strict coronavirus protection measures is now having to defend herself against is accusations of hypocrisy.
Security camera footage shows her with her mask down, getting a haircut and style at a salon in San Francisco before salons there were allowed to open.
The owner of that salon in San Francisco is from Fresno, and leased a space at a hair salon in Fresno until about 6 months ago.
Governor Newsom said last week that salons could open this Monday.
Monday afternoon, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited E Salon in San Francisco to get her hair done.
The owner, Erica Kious, sent FOX News video of Pelosi inside at the salon, with her mask pulled down after having her hair washed.
"It is absurd that she felt safe and gets to choose to go to the salon, while others are prevented by state and local restrictions to make the same choice. In other words, I want salons to be open. I want her visit to be proof that even she knows it is safe to go to the salon."
Here's the problem: In San Francisco, salons weren't allowed to open until Tuesday, and even when they did open, they could only do cuts outdoors.
