I don’t know. I think as the forests become dysfunctional, for example, too many trees or more trees than a certain area was meant to carry for a particular soil/terrain/water shed resulting in at least local droughty conditions if not more widespread can certainly lead to an altering of climate. So yes, it has a lot to do with forest/range management.

We speak as though these fires are huge but the fires that occurred prior to industrialization were certainly very large.

Problem is with that theory is that before management by humans, there were so many “natural” fires that the build up of understory never happened.

Silvaculture is the practice of growing trees. If done in the correct way, it results in a vastly more healthy forest and vastly better environment.
