1619 Project’s Nikole Hannah-Jones: Trump ‘Trying to Stoke Racial Division’

Appearing Friday on CNN, New York Times writer and “1619 Project” creator Nikole Hannah-Jones accused President Donald Trump of attempting to stoke racial division after the president announced the “1776 Commission,” which will encourage teachers to educate students about the “miracle” of U.S. history.

The 1619 Project "does not argue that 1776 was not the founding of the country, but what it does argue for is that we have largely treated slavery as an asterisk to the American story,” creator @nhannahjones says as President Trump has railed against it. https://cnn.it/2ZPdeoS

The purpose of the 1619 Project was to stoke racial division.

Someone brought up a good point elsewhere. The first blacks were treated as indentured servants then released, just like whites. It was several decades later that a black former indentured servant went to court arguing blacks can’t be freed.

Funny, how she bypassed the part of africans selling their own people..If they were no slaves to buy, slavery wouldn’t have existed with blacks....

The one reason the 1619 project refuses to admit blacks were part of the slavery problem.....

No, Nicole - YOU and Obama and BLM have been stoking racism and using black people are your pawns all year.

Now, when the polls are turning against your hate speech you dare try to pin this on Trump?

FU.

Look at what the black lives matter Marxists deliberately did.

Set up sympathy for fallen black criminals at the hands of police, made people afraid to not support BLM or be doxxed, shamed and canceled. Millions of dollars removed from the honest economy to go to Marxist BLM Inc. cause, thereby causing higher prices to consumers.

Made police wary of the idiots throwing heavy rocks, Molotov cocktails and dangerous fireworks and shooting laser beams into their eyes.

Cities pitting looting rioters, arsonists and people surrounding cars to threaten their lives, against townspeople who must really resent them.

Set up further resentment by killing police officers to go along with the everyday violent crimes that people accept (Example: Cannon Hinnant was riding his bike in front of his father’s home when 25-year-old Darius Sessoms allegedly walked up and shot him in the head, and then went back into his home. )

Plus carjackings, teens threatening mall shoppers, home invasions, rapes armed robberies and shootings of people of all races.

This causes enmity between races and causes some Christians and Jews to struggle with “love thy neighbor”.

So the leftists are guilty as charged. (BLM includes a majority of white supporters—not just the blacks at the top.) I believe they will someday face proper actions as Ralph Waldo Emerson described in the essay Compensation.

The 1619 author insults everyone’s intelligence, pretending as if her own book - condemned as fiction by historians of all political persuasions - did not and does not stoke racial divisions.

Is Black Civil Rights activist Bob Woodson trying to stoke racial division with his center’s 1776 Project as well?

Racially divisive woman accuses her critics of racial division. I really think the Babylon Bee should quietly go out of business at this point.

DANG!

As always, the Left accuses others of what they themselves are doing.

The 1619 Project is a pack of lies. Slavery is not the “American Story” - it is an evil blot on the history of the entire world. There was absolutely nothing unique about slavery existing in the US and it existed in the Americas long before the first Europeans ever arrived. Black Africans owned Black African slaves - Black Africans owned White European slaves. African nations were just as responsible for the slave trade as any other nation. Thousands of free blacks in the US owned black slaves. It is an evil reality. If you only portray slavery as evil when it can be used to push an anti-American narrative, then you aren’t really motivated by the evils of slavery but instead by political propaganda. What was unique about the US was not that slavery existed here, but in how much of the US it never existed and how much real opposition there was to slavery - with the latter forces ultimately winning the day. That is American history...and that is America. It was not founded on slavery nor was slavery part of the fabric at the heart and soul of the nation’s principles. That is a fact.

The first blacks were sold into slavery by their opposition tribes to the Arabs in the Middle East. The KSA still buys slaves in the slave markets of the Sudan to this day. Yes those markets are still going strong. Maybe it was the first blacks to the West India Trading Company were considered indentured servants. However the first blacks were slaves traded to the Arabs who also took white peoples as slaves as well.

I’d be more impressed if these people were working to free current slaves in a few parts of Africa and Asia and wherever else it is.

Exactly.

Just like these people spending hundreds of millions / billions of dollars on political campaigns to combat “climate change” could have donated all of that money to African forestation projects...but didn’t.
