I heard Laredo had the 2nd highest per capita violent border crime just a few years back...sure sounds like they need it.

Nuevo Laredo, on the other side of the river, is a cartel hotbed.

It got so bad there a few years ago, that the Mexican Government disbanded the compromised local Police, and instituted martial law.

Things calmed down when one cartel established supremacy, but gang wars are heating up again, as smuggling routes have to shift, because of the new walls going up.
