GREAT kid. Married my cousin 20 years ago, knowing that with Thalassemia she could die at any time. And she couldn’t have kids. It was too risky.
They ended up having a great kid and my cousin is doing as well as can be expected in her 40s with the disease.
But in a family of only Italian last names, boy did we tease him the first year. :)
Marrying someone in your 20s who might not be around in her 30s is such an admirable and beautiful thing. That’s LOVE.
