Junk Silver/Junk Coins

Junk silver in the form of Pre-1965 US Coinage. From top left: Silver dimes in paper 2 x 2 holders, a roll of dimes and a mixed-loose lot of half dollars, quarters, dimes and "wartime" nickels.

How many years are the silver pumpers going to do this?

Silver is a commodity (like gold). Commodities do not do well against a strong US dollar index - which it is.

Maybe, maybe not.

There’s one thing that’s certain about silver - in 1964 a silver US quarter would buy you a gallon of gas. Today that same silver quarter will still buy you a gallon of gas. I expect this will continue to be the case for the foreseeable future.

I bought a shit ton of Bitcoin the last time it dipped below 10k, and it's doing well now, just like 2016 Election time and months after when it exploded above $20k.

If the author is right about massive civil unreast, you could just buy silver futures in an Ameritrade or Tradestation, etc. Or short the S&P index futures.

I’m sitting on 2600 ounces that I bought some years back at a bit over $11/ounce.

Would not mind tripling my money.

silver has been hanging around 23-24 for a week or two. Was up to 28-29 a few about a month ago. Sold some years ago for around 40. That is when you sell a fork or spoon or two. Will be interesting to see what happens. At $30 a roll of pre 1965 quarters is worth $217.

Prolly not a bad idea to have a little in the back of the gun safe.

If nothing else it'll put a smile on the face of whoever you leave your guns to.

I’ve got my junk silver, ammo, reloading supplies, and food stores. Only preparation I’ve got to make is to fill up six 5 gallon water jugs, fill up all my cars with gas, and fill all the spare fuel cans and the generator. Might pick up a couple extra propane cylinders, too.

I thought the decline in electronic manufacturing was was drove the price of silver down to it’s current level?

No.

Gold and silver will not skyrocket; they may get a short term bounce based on Jim Cramer’s rolled up sleeves and jibberish, but nothing more.

The riots will not continue ad infinitum.

If silver(Ag) goes up, it will be because of it’s industrial uses, not the “poor man’s gold” profile. Gold (Au) OTOH, is a hedge, and with PDJT draining the swamp, I fully expect our 10% drop over the past few days to be made up within the first two months of the administration.

Pompeo, Jared, Ivanka, Knuchen, HOR, Senate, governors...we won’t have enough goal to feed this locomotive!

I wouldn’t hold FAANGS.

I would buy coal-related.

Big question mark is nuclear or uranium stocks...I have been holding some of these for years, betting against Obama/Hillary.

I think USSteel is a steal and will go way up.

Anyway, my $.02.

Good, but largely conjecture, as par. But yeah, have a 4-gun entryway bench filled to the brim full of silver dollars and other coins.

>>silver coins might be the only way to buy groceries for your family.

Right, can’t wait until I head down to mega-mart, and hand some silver coins to a 17 year old checkout kid and tell them they are for my groceries...
