ST. LOUIS — October became the deadliest month for Missouri in the coronavirus pandemic as fatalities statewide rose to 618 for the month, surpassing September, with the toll still likely to climb.

At the same time Wednesday, Missouri reported another grim record: The state’s seven-day total hospitalization average rose to 1,604, marking the first time that number has surpassed 1,600. Missouri hospitalization data lags three days, and not every hospital reports every day.

If mass are such a panacea then why is this happening?

Because masks aren’t a panacea and nobody ever said they were? Masks reduce the range and volume of respiratory droplets, which are the primary vector for SARS-CoV-2 transmission. That reduces the risk of transmission, but it doesn’t reduce that risk to zero.

Spanish flu 17-18. Majority of deaths were from masks. Lung infections, death from pneumonia. 2008 Oxford peer reviewed. Masks will mess you up. I’ve seen it firsthand here in northern Alberta too. Walmart and police station had mandatory masks and cases skyrocketed in those places. So the city decides to make masks mandatory lol. I go everywhere without one. I don’t own one, nor will I. This is psychological conditioning for what’s to come.

I am going to suppose it is because of the lack of prophylactic treatment being made available to the general public before a positive test result. That means the virus has a better chance of taking hold and becoming more severe especially in vulnerable populations.

People are being told (by health authorities) that there is no cure for the virus and the only way to stay safe is to lock yourself away or wear a mask. They are not being told about the importance of vitamin D levels or zinc or vitamin C or HCQ. The choice is not between the virus and no virus. The choice at this point is between getting a more severe course of the virus or getting a mild case.

The current way of “fighting” the virus is making things worse. Stress weakens the immune system and makes people more vulnerable to disease. If the recommendations of the “experts” are followed things will get worse.

It is noteworthy that Mr. Fauci co-authored that 2008 study. Wonder if that makes him guilty of murder for recommending wearing masks?

If masks were such a big risk for problems, doctors, nurses, dentists, dental hygienists, carpenters, contractors, painters, construction workers, factory workers, laboratory workers, and others who’ve been wearing masks every single day for work for decades now would have been sick and dying from them long before now.

To say nothing of the fact that billions of people around the world have been wearing masks daily for several months now, yet we aren’t seeing billions of collapsed lungs or eyeballs popping out. This nonsense about masks causing diseases is absolutely ridiculous and has zero evidence to support it whatsoever. In fact, it has massive evidence from a century of daily professional use proving that it’s utter nonsense.

Thankfully the massive election fraud by the Democrat party has taken Fauci off the front pages and TV interviews.

Except it’s all based on a lie. The paper said nothing about masks causing pneumonia. Here’s the paper, read it for yourself: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2599911/

Go to the source on wild claims like this. More often than not they turn out to be fake news.

When this started New York had 1,000 deaths daily, yet today the country has less than that. How is that data and science make this “worse”.

If you have a link, I'll read it. But I found no science supporting the mask theory. What happens https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2600384/ is we all have that bacteria. But the bacteria only successfully infects people who get the viral infection.

I have the link right here: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2599911/

Except there’s no mention of masks being the culprit for the secondary bacterial pneumonia infections. In fact, the word “mask” doesn’t appear anywhere in the entire paper.

This is more distraction and fearmongering coming from Fakebook. No, masks aren’t going to kill you.

The results are still the same.

"The widespread use of cloth masks by healthcare workers may actually put them at increased risk of respiratory illness and viral infections and their global use should be discouraged, according to a UNSW study."

And that’s only if they were worn properly, kept clean (to avoid other illnesses), and it doesn’t prompt people to touch their face when they get a propensity to adjust the mask, etc.

I've read the masks cause disease theory at American Thinker. https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/07/to_mask_or_not_to_mask.html#ixzz6cxIL3Cey

Less than a micron in size, these particles hang in the air indefinitely, like smoke or odors, which are composed of similarly sized particles. Consider an infected person as a smoker or stick of burning incense. Where and when you can smell smoke is where and when you can catch their virus. Can you smell smoke through your mask?

Molecules that you can smell like the volatile chemicals in smoke are 100 to 1000 times smaller than a virus. Masks are not meant to stop viruses but droplets 10 to 100 times larger. American Thinker simply does not have the facts.

Army taught me to stop a virus takes a hazmat suit with supplied air. I also can’t ignore the cases in Grande Prairie all stemmed from mandatory masks.

There seems to be an idea that masks are created equal- in that all that is generally required to enter a building is some sort of face covering. Yet, among the popular masks these days, the amount of particulate that is trapped by the mask widely varies. Some are very effective (N95), most are much less effective. Some coverings, like bandanas are not effective at all.

Then, it's also recommended that people wash their hands frequently, and sanitize their hands whenever they have made contact with another person. And, there's that social distancing thing.

My guess is that people comply with the masks because it is the easiest and most obvious way to get by in today's environment. After that, there is very little mitigation.

follow the indian casinos....they opened in my area, one not even requiring masks, and the "resurgence" came about....

and our local health commandant didn't say a word, not even "please don't go"....can't upset the indians now, with all their campaign cash...

Grande Prairie passed a law saying if they had 100 cases they had to wear masks. They got to 100 (probably several times more untested) and then they put on masks. And now cases have dropped.

Army taught me to stop a virus takes a hazmat suit with supplied air.

That's true but that's not what public masks are for. They are for the talkers. In fact, the anti-maskers are the biggest talkers in my observations. It would be much better if they simply didn't talk and didn't wear a mask. A disposable mask stops some of the droplets from talking in the size range of 10 microns and up. Hard to quantify. Cloth masks probably stop less. Neither does much to protect anyone, least of all cloth.

The vast majority of viruses require no such thing to stop. For instance, you can safely treat ebola-infected patients with no mask or gloves; let alone a hazmat suit.

It sounds like what the army taught you was the abridged version of how best to protect yourself against biological weapons. It’s woefully incomplete for the rest of the real world.
