Everybody political in Texas knew about it; trucks and cars were racing around full of ballots. My mom who grew up in Texas has told me about that.
It seems that Democrats have been getting away with open crime including election fraud for a long time.

Indeed. Johnson was given the name Landslide Lyndon in an ironic tribute to the election being stolen by a relative handful of votes.
