J.J. Watt joins chorus of support for Texans executive reportedly fired for lack of 'cultural fit'

The team is now run by CEO and chairman Cal McNair — Bob McNair’s son — alongside Rootes and executive vice president of football operations Jack Easterby.

Easterby, a Christian pastor, made the stunning rise from New England Patriots team chaplain and “character coach” to the top of an NFL team’s football operations when the Texans hired him in 2019.

Schefter’s report of Palcic’s dismissal didn’t detail what was meant by “cultural fit.” Palcic has tweeted in recent days in support of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris and re-tweeted criticism of President Donald Trump’s staff.

Sorry snowflakes but Republicans have rights too and political orientation does not make one a protected class individual. I'm sure none of these whiners complaining about this firing would have batted an eye if this PR flak was fired for supporting the president.

I think I read some months ago that J.J. Watts ‘supported’
BLM. I recall being disappointed, but not all that surprised.
One has to remember, we are dealing with teammates, and most athletes will work in unison or follow the lead of another player. The Hive Mentality has been their most familiar way of thinking since High School.

We are in a battle which leftist NFL employees have forced upon us. In general football fans are not people who support murdering cops or failing to stand for the national anthem. In the end football fans will decide this issue, and the head office recognizes this fact. If the Texans want butts in their stadium seats then J.J. Watt will be next.

Winning is good for us, but not if the team is not us.

What chance do other staff have if the team can’t even get a good coach or a capable offensive line for their QB.

I used to have high hopes that JJ Watts would become a major conservative leader in Congress. He is charismatic and seemed destined for political stardom, maybe even a Presidential run. And then, he just quit.
