Yes, but it’s really stretching it when you see close to half the protesters aren’t white (or don’t seem to be white).
“Where do they get the notion that the anti-lockdown movement is “white racism”?”
Even they don’t believe it - it’s a lie - they’ll simply say anything to bully and intimidate people. Unfortunately it usually works.
It sounds like the composer of “Baby Shark Dance” has more talent as a musician and lyricist then Eric Clapton and his band..... Maybe Eric Clapton should partner with the composer of “Baby Shark Dance” to produce more hits : )
Dear me I laughed so much my tummy hurts.
And yet, this is what high intellectuals substitute for actual thought now.
Nobody outside of Jamaica would ever have heard of Bob Marly had Clapton not covered his song.
Bob Marley died a very wealthy man thanks to Eric Clapton.
In 1976 an alcoholic and totally sh*tfaced Eric Clapton took the stage in Birmingham, England and said some unkind words."Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands … So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country … I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white … The black wogs and coons and Arabs and f*cking Jamaicans don’t belong here, we don’t want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don’t want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man … This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for f*ck’s sake? … Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!"
He's since apologized repeatedly and profusely for these comments, his battles with drugs and alcohol well-known. He's donated millions to recovery centers and supported the thriving careers of countless musicians of all colors.
But he's speaking against the lockdowns, so it's time to dredge up the past.
I thank Eric for the best concert I ever attended, and I've seen some good ones over the years: the second night of his Crossroads Guitar Festival, September 2019.
I went solo, none of my family members wanted to go...their loss. Eight, that's right, eight hours of the best music you can imagine: Clapton, Los Lobos, John Mayer, Doyle Bramhall II, Tedeschi-Trucks Band, Keb Mo, Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, Vince Gill, etc. I think my favorite memory was Los Lobos performing "Made to Break Your Heart", with Clapton doing the guitar solo. Clapton's encore song was Purple Rain.
Eric Clapton was the first concert I ever saw.
Red Rocks, Colorado, July 17th, 1983.
I was 14 years old, and at the time absolutely obsessed with the electric guitar (still am).
I delivered papers to save money for a concert shirt (wish I still had it).
I had nothing to compare it to, but he played a quiet, subdued set (he was probably drunk) and I didn't care. Clean Stratocaster out of Music Man amps. No distortion. No energy. I didn't care. I was seeing a real-life Rock God. I would assume all rock concerts were this polite and subdued.
A few months later I would see my second ever rock concert. The Scorpions. McNichols Arena.
Their show would have a decidedly increased level of energy.
A good measure of the current state of music can be viewed by looking the Trending category on Youtube. IMO, it is depressingly sad.
Working lyrics to Get Back
We don’t want to have no bloody Pakistanis
taking up our British jobs
Get back get back, go back to where you
once belonged
Bootlegs of their stuff do have a
track called No Pakistanis
True. But, then I go watch something like this and take solace that there are a few of us left...

Horse Hockey!
Sorry to ping you Bagster, but Bob Marley’s success was not based upon Eric Clapton...
Horse hockey is right.
Marley crossed over with this album.
Clapton as as a small child in the presence of a giant to Marley. He butchered 'I Shot the Sheriff'.
(thanks for the ping)
Thanks, Bags.
Hope you have a GREAT week, FRiend.
