Good thing O’Keefe didn’t do this in California or he’d be facing criminal charges regardless what the law says.

The eavesdropping laws in Cal are very restrictive. I’d be careful to not get caught up in them. In other states it is also a crap shoot. Recall the grief Linda Trip had in the Lowensky BJ case?

As far as that bum Zucker goes, I guess he did not get advice from a prominent defense attorney I heard say while pointing to a marlin he had mounted on the wall in his office: “Check what the plaque says under the marlin. It says I would not be on this wall if I had kept my mouth shut.”

There are several Federal laws pertaining to wiretapping. I can only assume Project Veritas is comfortable with their legal position.
