Republicans demand probe into Padilla's $35M grant to Biden-linked firm, claim 'misuse' of taxpayer funds

EXCLUSIVE: Republicans on the House Oversight and House Administration Committees are demanding answers from California Secretary of State Alex Padilla about a “highly questionable” $35 million contract his office awarded to a firm linked to the Biden campaign, claiming it was a “misuse of taxpayer money and a violation of the law.”

Padilla’s office, according to House Oversight Committee Ranking Member James Comer, R-Ky., Administration Committee Ranking Member Rodney Davis, R-Ill., and Rep. Jody Hice, R-Ga., allegedly used Help America Vote Act (HAVA) grant money from the coronavirus stimulus package, known as the CARES Act, to fund a voter contract with SKD Knickerbocker— a public affairs and political consulting firm the Republican lawmakers described as “Joe Biden’s main election campaign advisory firm.”

...“Because Secretary Padilla may become a member of the United States Senate in a matter of days or weeks, it is critical that he provide answers about his decision to award a contract to a partisan firm that appears to be both a misuse of taxpayer money and a violation of the law,” they wrote.

Republicans on the House Oversight and House Administration Committees are demanding answers...

**************

Republicans demanding??? Now that’s a total joke. They’ll get nothing and go back under the rocks they hide under.

The Dems don’t give a damn what R’s demand because they know there are never any consequences for ignoring them.

One of the main reasons that the country is in such a mess is because feckless Republicans don’t stand for anything. They passively stand by and allow Dems to ruin the country.

And yet people FLIP when Lin says to hell with the GA elections unless the two Rs Prove they are with Trump in fighting this fraud.

I’m All For backing them if they have Trump’s back.

The pressure Lin put seems to be making that happen, at least in part because of him.

If they waver..screw em.

not so much a distraction since Padilla, Garcetti and a few others are being considered for appointed positions. Questioning the ethics of Padilla throws a long shadow no Newsom prior to Newsom appointing him to Congress. Garcetti is being considered for a Biden appointment, so the grant casts a long shadow, also. What the Repubs do with this gift is another story.
