Mr. Williams was a practical man in a world of irrational politics.

As for the Dems’ handling of COVID, the Mencken quote at the end says it all.

Fine article. But as to Covid, it seems to be a different question when you know a casualty of it. My next door neighbor informs me that we live in sight of the house of a “healthy” adult who is no longer with us because of Covid.
He is definitely spooked.
But then, there is also the “last man to die in a war” issue; who wants to contract Covid the week before he might have been vaccinated against it???

There are two types of economists. American economist and the "rest of the world" economists. American economists, like Williams, preach "free trade' while the rest of the world preaches AND PRACTICES mercantilism and eats our lunch.
A pox on all American economists...

I heard on the radio yesterday that a 31-year-old scout for the Dodgers just died from “complications from COVID-19.” I wondered what the rest of the story was. There had to be comorbidities.
