Ted Cruz sees this fight over the integrity of the 2020 election as a way to reintroduce himself as a defender of fair and free elections. If Trump is reelected, Cruz will be formidable in the 2024 primaries.

He was formidable in 2016, finishing a respectable #2 to Trump, with everyone else at also-ran status, including Kasich, who hung it there despite being almost dead last. If he wins it for Trump at USSC, he will be unbeatable in 2024.

I think Cruz is also smart enough to know that if this fraud is allowed to stand, he can kiss goodbye any hope of ever being president. Wish more pubbies would buy a freakin’ clue. If they win with cheating this time, there is no next time.

I like Ted Cruz a lot, and this may be a topic for another day, but he was born in Canada, right? To one American parent, his mother, and his father was a Cuban refugee who didn’t have American citizenship at the time of Ted’s birth. So even though he did well in the 2016 primaries, won’t his birthplace be used against him if he runs again?
