Going forward into 2021, it will be interesting to see just how the left plans to deal with the pseudo-pandemic.
The way I see it, they have two options. Well, I guess actually three, but the third is a non-starter, which is coming clean and admitting to everyone that they lied about the severity of COVID for most of the population and they purposely inflated both the contraction and death rates to gain an election advantage.
The other two are 1: Now that a Democrat is president (assuming this ends up being the case), COVID will magically begin to lose its planet-killing status, and, thanks to our new president, things will begin to normalize a bit.
Or 2: Lockdowns will increase, despite vaccinations. Masks will become mandatory inside and out. All other controls will remain or be ramped up. But there will be one change: The press will all of a sudden begin to put a happy face on the whole mess. We will start to see the brighter side of the pandemic.

Keeping COVID going keeps a topic for the news outlets to cover.
If biden takes office (which I doubt) then.
1 - It won’t be for long. They will use the laptop or his slipping mind to remove him.
2 - No way they give up the power they have over people now. This will continue for another year and will use it as a excuse to further there agenda.
The press has lost integrity this past year.
Biden will end the covid, as obama stopped the seas from rising.
I can’t see any reason to release or ease the lock they have on people. It’s to their benefit.
Any negative effects will be based on Trump or COVID - the “not our fault” trope.
Remember when the Iraq and Afghanistan war death counts disappeared the day obama took office?

It’s going to be an internal fight. I can’t picture them giving up the control. But I also can’t picture refraining from making Biden and the dems the saviors of 2021 by easing restrictions to re-ignite the economy. They will keep covid threats in their pocket though, it worked for them. Going forward I kind of expect covid 23 and 27 or any time before a vital election.

I am all for anyone and everyone getting the vaccine that wants it..but I have to pass for now as I want others to be the test subjects.
I think a combination of #1 and #2 will happen. Biden will have a totalitarian lockdown for a short period, then, magically, COVID will cease to be a problem and the reporting of new cases will end. Nothing will have really changed though.
The last year? Try since the late 1960s!
I pick option #2. An authoritarian government never relinquishes a shred of power. He will use this as the fig leaf to usher in many more authoritarian schemes. Remember, the rule of law died with fair elections. We are in a new paradigm. Those who don’t adapt will perish.
Number 1. Here is how I see it unfolding:
1. Biden gets sworn in - initiates 100 day plan called something like “operation science”
2. Issues a bunch of meaningless executive orders encouraging mask wearing in all places, limited travel and social distancing. He will hold carefully crafted for media consumption “action” meetings with Democrat Governors.
3. Has the new response team give daily briefings.
4. Says that our first 100 days are the key to doing what should have been done all along, if we had had the right leaderships.
5. The media and the new response team, lead by Fauci, will start with very dire numbers and summaries in late Jan.
6. Amazingly though, sometime in late Feb. the news will start getting much more positive.
7. In early March, the news will get extremely positive, more so every day. The response team will say they see then end of this is very near. “Just another month or so” they will say.
8. In late April, victory will be declared and normalcy (although” cautious will be announced.)
9. The media will sing the praises of the new administration and reinforce the message that Trump could have done all of this if he had just listened to the experts.
10. Most of America will totally fall for it, just as they did the whole exaggerated threat in the first place.
The Biden administration will soar to 70% approval, but that will slowly deteriorate over the coming months as the economic tail of this hits. They will not be able to hide from that reality. By the time of the midterms, Democrats will be in hiding from an angry electorate wanting them to “fix” their problems!
Republicans retake congress, but don’t really do a damn thing (as per usual).
