The number of homicides and shootings in Chicago spiked dramatically in 2020, ending with more bloodshed than in all but one year in more than two decades, statistics released by police on Friday revealed.
After three years of falling homicide totals, 2020 ended with 769 homicides — 274 more than the previous year and the most since the 784 homicides in 2016. The latest shooting victim figures told the same story, with the year ending with 4,033 shooting victims compared with 2,598 the year before.
And it never let up, as is illustrated by the fact that in December, there were 50 homicides — 19 more than occurred in December 2019.

According to the Chicago Police Department, 79 officers were shot at in 2020, compared with 22 who were fired upon the year before. The number of officers who were struck by bullets doubled from five in 2019 to 10 in 2020.

The “Hey, Jackass” site has the number at 792; with some delayed mortalities among the wounded, that number should pass 800. The city has exceeded 700 only once in the past 10 years - that would be 808 about three years ago.
Still much lower than any year between 1970 and 1999.
Part and parcel of living in a city populated by Democrats.
I believe in the year 1900 the United States had like 900 murders total.
The population was like 90 million.
This included the last years of the “Wild West”.
Positively peaceful compared to “modern” Chicago.
Groot would do far better.

Wow... imagine how few they’d have if they defunded the police. Darned near zero, I’d imagine. When will society realize that racist cops are the real problem???
Their percentage of hits is going up, all that practice is paying off.
It will ease off in 2021.
In early 2022 it will pick up again when the national DemonRat media promotes the next series of White cops shooting Black suspects ahead of the mid-term congressional elections as they have done every 2 years since Michael Brown on August 9, 2014.
It is deliberate, predictable and happens in DemonRat cities where the cops can do nothing against their boss’s wishes or say anything about how their boss’s media lies are the cause of Black frustration leading to general mayhem and DemonRat votes.

You have to love what the democrats bring to the table.
In Chicago the democrats have the local culture and society that they themselves built and have cultivated for the last few decades.
They will try and blame it on the conservatives, but the democrats wanted it, the democrats voted for polices that brought it about, and now the democrat city is known as the city of recreational homicide.
Democrats build such great societies and cultures that it is not abnormal for your kid to be killed by a stray bullet while sitting on their bed in their own home.
Even when that happened they refuse to change their ways.
DC has had at least two more victims of violent crime die within the last week from wounds sustained days, weeks or months earlier. DC’s death count is the highest in years
Baltimore used to have a city map showing where homicides occurred. Don’t know if it still exists or not but I saw places with bodies where I used to play as a kid (and no criminal deaths at all). The old “Charm City” became “Harm City”.
Philadelphia is back to the “City of Bloody Love”. Much worse than when I lived there.
Other cities like Tulsa, Houston, possibly Cleveland, Detroit, LA, and New Orleans have had bumper crops of murders last year. [Portland and Seattle have communist and black extremists problems and murders).
Almost all run by Democrats.
Guess the only business thriving during the COVID 19 pandemic is the undertaking business with crime victims making up one of the top non-natural deaths group of deceased individuals (COVID, Crime, Suicides, Opiate deaths, and then car accidents, if I remember the major causes of death).
As Obama once said, “Yes we did” and he wasn’t referring to jobs/businesses returning to the US from Red China.
And how many injuries, I might ask. Incredible that they have such a creepy and weird “mayorette” to rule over this formerly wonderful city. Incredible! How do freaks like that get elected anywhere? And she/he/it is a FREAK!
My God, what were they thinking to elect such a malformation as he she/he/it?
