When Pence made it clear he would do nothing to audit concerns about election fraud he made himself the target of an angry electorate who wants their undiluted one man one vote to count.

While governor of Indiana, the Indiana State House and Senate voted to protect the traditional family unit, and Pence did stab them and God in the head.

Later, it is also true, Pence did throw General Flynn under the bus.

It is also likely many of the leaks from the executive branch actually came from the VP geography.

I recall an episode of The Vortex (the Church Militant show) that castigated Pence for abandoning Catholicism for Evangelical Christianity; but it looks like he abandoned Christianity altogether. (And he was a Democrat until 1983 too; now the passage about leopards changing their spots comes to mind.)
