My point was that oodles of veterans do not make an army without strategy, training, equipment, supplies, and a plan. Without all that they'd be a worse fighting force than the Iraqi army was.

If the actual active duty army were to splinter (like in the civil war, some staying loyal to the fascists and some siding with the citizens) then things change. Of course such a scenario is pretty unprecedented so who knows how that would go.
