I am one of those that is involved directly in deciding what may be a $100 billion cloud program. You can bet this weights HEAVILY on my decision to continue with AWS discussions.
Conflict of interests as well with government.
Amazon holds contracts with 17+ intelligence agencies and have servers in AWS that are isolated and not part of standard business “AWS Availability Zones”, so traffic cannot be compromised. These contracts run out of Seattle are worth ‘Billions’ of dollars, as the following article confirms what I know personally. There is no way Amazon will allow the US Government contract to be compromised over Parler.
Now Amazon, Facebook and Twitter have decided to edit their content, they have become a Publisher and MUST adhere to ALL rules. Therefore, ANY content found on their servers should also be available for legal discovery and can be forced to remove content, including PORN, Terrorist or threats against the State (just a few examples).
Illustrates why it is so important for business to control the critical operations of their business in house. This is especially true as corporations become woke and willing to punish those of different political beliefs. Discrimination because of politics needs to end.
