So why would He say that if He DID NOT want us to compare what happened to us, to what happened to Him.

That’s funny. The Catholic Church prohibited Catholics from access to the Bible for 1500 years. They executed Bible translators. It was the Protestants who brought the Bible to the people. They suffered greatly at the hands of Papal persecutors.
If you can read the Bible in English, thank William Tyndale and other Protestants Martyrs who gave their lives to bring it to you.
