A sunny place for shady people. Generally speaking attracts lots of out of staters (Florida natives are a minority of the population), including a good number of folks who f—ked up their lives elsewhere. State economy is dominated by hospitality and real estate both industries with low bars to entry. Hope that DeSantis is able to attract better quality employers but I am not holding my breath.

I am a second generation native Floridian, but moved to the Midwest over 30 years ago because of job opportunities. Almost all of my family still lives there. After Ron DeSantis’ great leadership, I think about moving back sometimes. Probably to the Panhandle, but who knows?

Still, we have a slice of Heaven right where we are, so the decision would be very difficult.
