THis is misleading. 264 died. They were not all “killed”, in the strict sense.
According to the article they got the information from, of the 264 police deaths this year, 145 died of COVID.
Yes it is misleading. Add in traffic collisions almost 50 died, then throw in COVID, and the numbers are nearly cut in half.
Yes, these stats are pretty meaningless unless broken down into categories. I’m sure some of them were killed in car crashed during chases, etc.
