Now, what does all this mean? Some embedded Obama holdovers in the State Department acting quickly? Motives? I'm not yet sure exactly what it means. We are faced with unfaithful NATO country, Turkey, who occupies NW Syria and holds it for ISIS remnants. And our relation with Assad (Iran and Russia) is non-existent.
The N. Syrian Kurds are quite a bit different from those in Iraq and Iran. They are to the left of me and the US (under Biden??). But in N. Syria there are a sizeable number of Christians among the Kurds and their Syriac Allies. I've seen reports of 20,000 Christian converts in past 5 years in the region.
That said, the overall thrust in Europe by Kurds are behind Ocalan. Nobody knows what 20 years in solitarity confinement has done to him. But Turkey will never free him, as his followers want. Even his lawyers have not seen him in years.
My gut, tells me that those Obama era holdovers in the State Department are acting quickly on this. It may not be evident for a while.

I have great sympathy with N. Syrian Kurds. Have for many years. But I do not want the US involved directly if it can be avoided. President Trump made great strides in convincing the more stable countries in the region to step forward and act appropriately. (Big order)
The problem is NATO Member, Turkey. Who is supportive of the remainder of ISIS and committed to expansion and a rebirth (horrible concept) of the Ottoman Empire with him running it.
Assad and Iran (supported by Russia) are a clear threat to Israel (and Jordan).
I have ZERO confidence in Biden’s “team” doing anything but make this much much worse for all involved in Syria and the Region, and also for the U.S. military, and for the ability to help protect Israel.
Obama hated Israel, Biden’s “team” must also hate Israel. To me, that is a fatal error.

Still More indicators of shift taking place in Syria
Two female local politicians executed near Hesekê
In northeastern Syria, two local politicians have been kidnapped and beheaded by unknown persons. The crime pattern points to ISIS sleeper cells. According to relatives, the two women had already been threatened several times in the name of the ISIS.

In the northeastern Syrian city of Al-Dashisha, south of Hesekê, two local politicians were kidnapped and executed by gunmen. The victims are Sada al-Harmoush, co-chairwoman of the civil council of the Til Sheir (Tal al-Shayer) town, and her deputy Hind al-Khedr, who was also responsible for the economy committee. The perpetrators are unclear, but the crime pattern points to sleeper cells of the jihadist terrorist organization ISIS.
According to available information, Sada al-Harmoush and Hind al-Khedr were abducted during a raid on their home on Friday and taken to an unknown location. Neighbors observed at least eight heavily armed men allegedly involved in the abductions. Just hours after the abduction, local residents found the decapitated bodies of Harmoush and Khedr on a roadside not far from the center of al-Dashisha. Relatives reported that both women had recently been threatened in the name of the ISIS.
Targeted operations against ISIS structures
For months, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have been conducting targeted operations against structures of the ISIS militia, which has been reorganizing in the shadow of Turkish attacks against the northeastern Syrian autonomous region. Just earlier this week, an ISIS commander was captured during an operation by the YAT counterterrorism unit near Hesekê. The forty-year-old is responsible for attacks on SDF commanders and other figures. However, the geographical extent of the area and lack of technical resources make the fight against cell structures difficult. The invasion of Turkey, which began in the fall of 2019, has also massively strengthened ISIS. Jihadists who managed to retreat to the desert in the Syrian-Iraqi border region in the course of the "Cizîrê Storm" liberation offensive have been able to reorganize largely unchallenged and carry out attacks in both countries.

Which side are we supporting in Syria today? I hope it’s the side that supports democracy through free, fair and transparent elections. Just to put the finishing touch on domestic hypocrisy.
To: AndyJackson
Which side?
That is complicated.
There is a lot of evidence that where SDF was in charge, the elections were honest.
There is evidence that in Syria where Assad is in charge, that the Assad supporters always won.
In Turkey? Erdoo always wins, if he looses he just removes them by Judicial fiat. Removal in Turkey, means put them in jail for political reasons until Erdoo decides he is tired of playing with them.
Truth, Honesty and the American Way? It is not present in Syria. But unfortunately it is currently not present in the USA.

“Regime Change Back as Policy?”
That would fit the overall pattern, of rapidly re-instating Obama-era policies (and personnel), across the board. I believe that is the most likely (default) explanation.
“the Turkish state is making an attempt to reactivate ISIS”
That was (covertly) joint policy of Obama and Erdogan. It seems likely that with the band now getting back together, they will soon be singing the same old songs together - to Overthrow Assad, and install Islamists or Muslim Brotherhood to rule Syria. Ultimately, I would expect a Biden Administration to leverage (use) the Kurds in the interim, but turn them over to the tender mercies of a Post-Assad Sunni extremist (Turkish puppet) Government, if they can seize power.

“Turk Mercs, now contract changed coming home” (back to Syria)
I suspect this might be an indicator of the priority of fire for Erdogan - where the action is (or soon will be).
Libya kind of stalemated when the Egyptians put their foot down against Turkish expansion. With the second coming of the Obama Administration, Syria may be coming into play again.

Very bad mojo.
I so despise these creeps. I did not one of the old State Department “experts” was told to do one thing and he ignored what Trump told him to do and did the opposite.
He hid from him the true troop levels.
Thanks for view.
