There were in rumors in DC circles _decades_ ago that the GOP had a serious pervert problem in the Senate and Congressional delegations.
That made it easy for defense contractors and other lobbyists to blackmail them to keep them “on the team”.
Why would someone come out and say he knew about a predator for years but didn’t say anything? I can think of only one reason: he’s concerned something about himself will come out in the investigations and he wants to get in front of it early.
All I can think of as to why Rove didn’t say anything, maybe that type of perversion is not terribly rare in the bowels of Washington D.C.
