House Republicans Prepare To Oust Liz Cheney From Leadership

House Republicans are gearing up for a referendum on Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney’s role in leadership this week after she supported Democrats’ rushed second impeachment of former President Donald Trump.

Cheney ignited backlash from her own party three weeks ago when she announced her support for Democrats’ plan to remove the outgoing president days before the end of his term. The three-term Wyoming congresswoman claimed her choice to indict the president whose restrained foreign policy approach she frequently opposed was a “vote of conscience.”

The timing of her move on the eve of the vote hurt members of the caucus she ostensibly leads, according to many members. They also cited the extreme rhetoric she used in pushing for Trump’s removal from office.

“The president of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack,” Cheney claimed of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots in a statement frequently quoted by Democrats and the media. “Everything that followed was his doing.”

It’s who know and who you —— in the swamp.

“Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, has many friends in Washington, D.C. media and political realms. Many of them are advocating that Republicans keep her in leadership despite her troubles.”

Deep state should be able to take care of the insurgents, one way or the other.

Thank you for posting this.

I read the whole article. There were a few things in there that I didn’t know about it and if that were even possible, it led me to having an even lower opinion of Cheney.

I hope she is removed from her leadership position and in two years from now, is ousted in the GOP primary.

She needs to go. She is a divisive figure in the party to be holding a leadership position.

So glad she didn’t run for Senate and we have Cynthia Lummis there instead...we’d be stuck with her for 6 years.

Only 13 percent of her voters will cast a ballot to re elect
her.

More than half the GOP house members want her out of leadership.

McCarty isn’t listening so he may face a mutiny.

Boy the GOP picks weak dumb leaders like Ryan , Boehner and McCarthy.

Jim Jordan for Leader

Bout darned time.

While they are at it, can they eviscerate Romney in some way?

This may not be the opportune time.

The best we may be able to do is just go hells bells at
primarying the guy.

They need to be pressured to quit congress either now or when the current term ends.

With the situation 50/50 in the Senate, there’s not much we
can do at this moment to Romney.

Sadly, we need him. He won’t be with us all the time, but
if he were a Democrat he would be against us all the time.

A good start. McConnell needs to be ousted too sometime before his term is over. A thorough cleansing, deGOPEification and Trumpization of the GoP will not happen overnight or in weeks or in months.

The fact that sh!t canning Liz Chicanery is a big deal is a big deal. This should be no brainer for the “leadership”.

She is a two term representative, she just started her third.

The GOP hopes they can mollify conservatives by demoting her, but the agenda will remain true to the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA)

[Cheney had previously upset members of her conference with lackluster fundraising, an inability to recruit candidates, and support for primary opponents of a member who opposes her preferred levels of foreign interventionism.]

This is the meat of the problem with this broad.

You forgot Hastert and Cantor. Oh, and Mike Pence.

Only people committed to the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA) are allowed in GOP leadership.

I believe McCarthy is attempting to walk a Tightrope between The Swamp and the Establishment. The result I believe will be his undoing as neither The Swamp will trust him nor will the 75+ MILLION President Trump voters trust him.
An alternative view is McCarthy is pure Swamp and attempting to fool supporters of MAGA Nation into thinking he is too but, is being manipulated by Swamp Interests. Personally, I believe he is SWAMP through and through trying to play the base of the party. But, that’s just my perspective.

Think about it. Michael Savage always said they only let people get in positions of power they can blackmail. Hastert, Boehner, Ryan, Etc.

Anyone that 1)chose to PUBLICLY damage Trump over the past four years 2)made an announcement of a Republicans Against Trump movement in order for him to lose the election and then 3)voted with the Democrats to impeach the President is no longer welcome. And if cheney stays, I go.
