Yes you did John and back then I was so impressed with you. I had great hopes for your future.
Then you became the Governor of Ohio and went off the rails. You became a Big Government Republican and usurped the powers of the Legislature.
John, I don’t want to be part of the Republican Party if you are representative of the kind of government that such a party would lead.
New wine for new bottles. If Kasich understood American politics in general or the GOP in particular, he'd be starting his second presidential term.
This miserable dolt never shuts his pie-hole.
It’s already dead.
CC
John Kasich wants a different base...
He wants citizens who don’t give a damn about the quality of their own lives. Kasich wants citizens who ONLY care about the quality of the lives of Republican ‘elites’ in DC.
it’s breathtakingly selfish.
That’s all that needed to be said.
John Kasich’s idea of ‘small government’ was to take what democrats wanted to give to their base and only allow 80% of it...
That’s NOT smaller government - it’s giving dems 80% of what they want. And our side - we got a 100% of nothing.
(Immigration reform: dems wanted illegals made legal. We agree to all but the most hardened criminals. We want ‘a fence’... Outcome for 40 years before Trump: Democrats get a few million new illegals made legal AND ‘the fence’ was never funded.
YOU admired that kind of crap?
Trump REVITALIZED the GOP.
Brought it back to life.
The Bushbots however are still there.
Donald Trump, start a new party.
You may be forgetting what usual for Republicans at the time.
Kasich was a budget cutter by comparison.
After the Dems pushed through Baseline Budgeting in the 1970’s there was little to even slow the growth of the budget let alone cut it.
FU Kaisch.
Good riddance, jackass. Now if you can politically die-off tomorrow, that would be great.
The GOP will die if it does not expel Kasich, Romney, and all of the Bush and Mccain families.
It was Newt who make the basic reforms in the early 90’s NOT Kasich...
“I was the one that was able to do reform inside the federal government. I did so many things down there that were conservative.”
If any of that was true, Obama would not have had 8 yeears, and Repub primary voters would not have rejected Swamp politicians like Kasich in 2016.
Make up your mind was it Kasich fault that the Dems got 80% of what they wanted or was it Newt’s.
I am in no way defending Kasich.
What I am saying is that I respected what he stood for when he was a young fire brand budget cutter in congress.
He disappointed me and many others as he became a Big Government Republican and then a Despotic Governor.
cue the Seinfeld shame!
Oh. You’re still here. I’m sorry mailman-boy. You may go now.
The party Kasich desires appeals to less than 3% of US voters. Upper middle class and wealthy prestige college educated professionals and businessmen. The party of Kasich and Romney views Kasich’s father, the blue collar mailman, as uncivilized, ignorant and almost certainly a racist homophobe.
Kasich seems not to understand most of the patrician class he sees as comprising the GOP has moved to the Democrat party over the past 50 years. The majority of today’s bankers, tech company CEO’s, academics, physicians, and corporate executives are affiliated with the left and are willing participants in the politics of destruction he claims to abhor.
Sadly Kasich is the village fool. The world he craves is long gone. His only purpose in life is being a willing tool for the leftist media to bash conservatives. He enjoys playing the role of wise elder statesman, occasionally spouting his wisdom when his media friends want a conservative bashing statement. He is too self centered to know his liberal friends, and conservative voters, view him as a doddering old fool.
