“Following a drop in cases, the numbers in NC suddenly SHOT UP yesterday.”
One day is meaningless and you have to look “inside” the counts to learn what is going on. How many cases were actually reported yesterday and how many were “added from prior days”? Happens all the time. They do a catch up of unreported cases. Some states are so poor at reporting you can’t learn this. Colorado does a pretty good job if you know where to look.
Most states have declining cases at this time, but there are still hotspots. Yesterday about 50% of the cases were from 8 states. The other 42 and District of Columbia shared the other 50%.
