Outraged Bank of America customers are boycotting the bank after learning it snooped through hundreds of innocent people's accounts at the request of the government as part of its investigation into the Capitol riot, using a broad criteria that meant anyone who made a transaction in DC that day came under a federal microscope.
Tucker Carlson revealed the bank's involvement in the investigation on his FOX News show on Thursday night. After being contacted by the government, Bank of America handed over the information of 211 people.
The feds asked for information including:
Customers confirmed as transacting, either through bank account debit card or credit card purchases, in Washington, D.C., between January 5 and January 6
Purchases made for hotel and Airbnb RSVPs in DC, VA, and MD after January 6
Any purchase of weapons or at a weapons-related merchant between January 7 and their upcoming suspected stay in D.C. area around Inauguration Day
Airline-related purchases since January 6
From the 211 people the bank turned over, one was interviewed by law enforcement and no one was arrested.

Bank of America was also the first bank to go after the business of illegals.
Or, more precisely, government is an arm of the money center banks.
It's one thing to bank with a company that shares data with government agencies without warrants, it's another to bank with a company that's stupid enough to think you wouldn't find out about it when you were questioned by the same government agencies.
People will even conduct business with criminals but they'll avoid doing business with idiots.
Bet’cha Wells Fargo did it also
I would like to see a run on that bank.
Oh I’m sure that the FBI will, under the direction of the AG, conduct a thorough investigation to resolve this. Just as soon as they locate the misplaced laptop that Hunter used to own. Maybe we can have Durham add that to his busy agenda?
I remember all these companies falling over themselves giving tens of millions of dollars to BLM as cities were burned down and looted.
yep
I wish I hadn’t closed my BOA account years ago.
Disappointing that I can’t do it now!
Anti-American bastards!
Rarely used them for firearms or ammo/accessories - started using cash for more and more things right after the "election"- time is right to start fading away.
Bet all US banks and credit unions did the same under FBI order.
Bank of the Americas just got caught.
After 4 years of Americans living overseas having better luck with getting foreign bank accounts, the Democrats and IRS/ FATCA is back, making it nearly impossible for an American living overseas or his /her family to maintain a foreign bank account.
Wells is the sleaziest, slimiest appendage in the entire banking industry, and that’s a real reach. They sucked the blood out of our bank acount, almost cost us our house, and finally cost me a good job with five years’ tenure. If they were a breathing organism, I’d drive a wooden stake though their heart then douse them in holy water. These were the bastards who opened shadow bank accounts with new customers and charged them service fees off of the original account. Cretins. Dissemblers. Vermin. A plague. Locusts. Revenants. Festering sepsis.
It is fascism. Fascism is also called corporatism. The alliance of big business and big government against the people.
Big business is not your friend. Avoid national name brands whenever possible. In addition to being willing accomplices against the people, they fund the LEFTIST media.
It’d be entertaining. Like what happened to Gamestop and AMC stock a few weeks back.
We’ve been planning on canceling our Amazon visa card and just got a notice that they are changing the terms and conditions and that if we didn’t agree to it, then they would cancel our card.
What a great out.
I don’t use anything but cash for ANY purchases related to firearms. Not even one round of ammo. Cash only.
Pretty sure these undirected data requests are supposed to come with a pretty extensively jistified warrant, also pretty sure these undirected requests were the type of privacy invasions that made the first patriot act legally questionable.
While I’m thinking of it, these types of data pulls could have been done directly from the government and nobody would know if Elizabeth Warren got her way with the CFPB. Maybe they still can, nobody really talks about what type of access that shadowy acency can do.
I closed my account with BofA a year ago when they supported gun grabbing.
Close your BoA accounts and dump their stock.
PING!
