TOLEDO, Ohio — Two young boys are dead and a third underwent surgery and is in critical condition following a shooting at a south Toledo apartment complex, police confirmed on Friday.
The shooting occurred on the 800 block of Byrneport Drive on Friday evening. Toledo police officers arrived and found three boys inside the apartment, all suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The children were treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.
Ahmir Phillips, 5, and Gabriel Phillips, 1, died at the hospital. Ashton Phillips, 4, remains in critical condition, with Toledo police saying he "continues to fight for life."
The cause of their deaths was found to be multiple gunshot wounds, according to the autopsy. The coroner's office also ruled their deaths as homicides.
Kevin Moore, 27, was booked into the Lucas County Jail on two counts of aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault for the Feb. 5 shooting at Byrneport Apartments that killed two young boys. A third boy is in critical condition.

When I lived in Toledo, we had an apartment on Hill not far from Airport Rd. It was very rural. Apparently “city sprawl” struck the area. Byrneport Drive is new to me and off Airport Rd. Low income housing and several shootings.

The suspect, 27-year-old Kevin Moore, was arrested at the scene. Moore is the boyfriend of the children’s mother. The boys’ mother, Crystal Marie Andrews, was uninjured.”
Based on the name of the adults, I would say the children are the offspring of another man.

It’s right by the medical center where my wife works. You may know it as MCO. There’s a lot of bad neighborhoods around that area but there are a lot of bad neighborhoods all over Toledo to be honest. You gotta always be carrying and keeping your head in a swivel around here.
Oh my gosh, they are so cute. What an outrage, yet no one on the Left cares about this at all. If this murderer had been shot by the cops on his way out the door he would be seen as the victim. Maybe we could even have riots.

We moved out of Toledo in 1975. There were fields all over and Drive-in theater on Airport when I lived there. We lived in an apartment complex on Hill between Byrne Rd and Airport. Guess it’s changed a lot. There was a gas station on Hill and Byrne and corn fields on the other 3 corners.
