A Cleveland man on death row for killing 11 women died of natural causes in a prison hospital on Monday, a report said.
Anthony Sowell, 61, who earned the nickname “Cleveland strangler” for the murders, was convicted and sentenced in 2011 for the killings. He had a terminal illness and died at Franklin Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, an official told WJW.
Relatives of Sowell’s victims were relieved to hear of his death. “I am glad he is dead,” Donnita Carmichael, daughter of victim Tonia Carmichael, told the network.

who were his victims? did he attack his own community or make a special effort to attack well beyond his community...?
He should have been executed after his first conviction(s) and saved the taxpayer a lot of money and the families of his victims, lots of ongoing grief.

IIRC he was the guy they caught when he was chasing his next victim down the street after she managed to get away.

He was a black man who enjoyed killing black women.
That’s why we never heard of him.
Yeah, I maybe had heard a reference over the years but knew virtually nothing about him until I looked this up.
