The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is considering requiring COVID-19 testing for travelers planning to go on domestic flights. Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian told the Associated Press that he hopes this doesn’t happen.
“The level of travel that we are carrying domestically in the U.S. — not just Delta, but across the industry — would be substantially reduced from today’s already low levels if domestic testing was required. And we don’t have the facility or the technology or capabilities to be administering or monitoring domestic testing,” Bastian told AP.
Lauren Lyster spoke to some travelers at LAX about the possible policy for the KTLA 5 Morning News on Feb. 10, 2021.

Test citizens flying domestically, but do not test illegals crossing our border.
People are beginning to wake up.
Perhaps this is the light at the end of the tunnel.
People who drive instead of flying are more likely to die from this idiotic requirement.
You vill do vhat ve in de government say or you vill go to de cooler!
Could it be that the tests are known to give a large number of false positives ?
Or is it because most people have had it but it didn't make them sick (aka asymptomatic) ???
Screw the airlines. Post 9/11 they had a choice about what sort of government they wanted to support going forward.
The prospect of having my blood/brain barrier penetrated by a cotton swap when I have no symptoms of illness in order to board a flying vacuum cleaner manned by angry and obese middle aged flight attendants while wearing a mask every moment that I am not consuming food or drink:
No thanks, I’ll drive my truck with the windows down, the music turned up and enjoying limitless oxygen.
Good to hear.
Our US domestic airlines have been crippled economically, their employees have had to take long layoffs and some have been terminated due to the covid measures/shutdowns.
Now that the vaccines have opened the window of travelers starting to book flights across the US it is wrong to mandate negative covid tests for each traveler trying to book or board a flight. The airlines are already limiting seat numbers, requiring masks before and on board, plus do temperature checks. the tests will be enough of a bother that a lot of travelers will not fly so the airlines will go broke.
The CEO knows how many pilots refuse to take an untested vaccine. The ex-military pilots in particular remember the Anthrax vaccine debacle.
It's because it'll cost them a buttload of money. Make no mistake, airlines are hard core lefty virtue signalers but their love of money will always take precedence.
For instance where would the test be made? Yesterday at the doctor's clinic?
You could test OK yesterday and be infected today.
What to do about connecting flights where the time between arrival and boarding is long....like Atlanta, O’Hare where the distance between gates is fraught with opportunities to get infected.
Worse if the connection is missed.
When you travel, you take calculated risks. It can't be helped. You eat in towns you have never been in before, have no idea of where the best places to eat and sleep Ride in taxis, elevators, escalators...... exposed to maid service, room service, ice machines in the hall .....
I understand the problems with aircraft pressurization and ventilation, but it is just another factor among many.
I know more than a few pilots who fly the John Wayne , Van Nuys route and a few weeks back, the airport management almost threatened them that they wont have landing privileges on a specific airport if no proof of vaccination. The pilots supposedly gave him the middle finger and they would go to other smaller airports if need be. Never raised the issue again.
I’ve never had a poor experience flying Delta. They are more expensive, but some experiences I’m willing to pay more to get through with the least amount of hassle.
Should be the end, until something else arrives. Covid flu two? Being familiar with commercial aircraft, many do not realize the air flow is designed to continuously replace cabin air at a phenomenal rate- something like one cabin air volume per every few minutes. That air is recirculated through huge Hepa filters in the bag bins. Much airflow is required to keep the cabin pressurized at about 6.5 p.s.I.d. Mayo Clinic has performed cabin airflow tests with Delta airlines and found it exceeding fresh, clean air requirements....plus I know Delta fogs the cabins regularly with state of the art equipment....studied much back when the “ Ebola” flights were arriving from Nigeria. Flying is very safe.
So you can jam together on a city bus or subway car, but you can’t be safe on an airplane. Got it.

People can screw with the tests.
It’s that simple.
You mean the same Delta which put the flyers who harassed Romney on flight and the 2 women for a private conversation with Trump, on a ban list?
