I’m always willing to give nearly anyone a second chance. God Almighty knows full well I am a recipient of His good grace. That said, I have written Mike Pence off. Not lightly. But, after a great deal of investigation and thought. Upon all due consideration, there is no excuse for his betrayal.

To grant someone the authority to certify something necessarily implies that they also have the authority to refuse to certify it.
He should have stood tall and said something like, “The process that produced these documents was corrupt and fraudulent. This is the worst crime in the history of the United States, and I will see to it that all who had a hand in it are punished, if it’s the last thing I do.”
He should next have walked over to Pelousy, torn the documents in half, and flung them in her face.
The Constitution nowhere requires complicity with criminal acts such as those which produced the fraudulent reports of electoral votes. If Pence had the courage God gave the lowest coward he could have quashed this coup on the spot.
I’m sorry, what am I thinking of? He didn’t do his duty because he didn’t want to. He wanted evil to win.

The VP isn’t “granted” any authority to certify anything. For one thing, the January 6th certification vote was held under the provisions of a 19th-century statute that is of dubious constitutional standing and may not stand up to a legal challenge anyway. Secondly, the VP under that statute simply presides over a joint session of Congress. He doesn’t have unilateral authority to make decisions on his own. Any challenge to the electoral votes of any state would be subject to a vote of both houses of Congress, and under the Constitution the VP would be limited to casting only a tie-breaking vote in the Senate.
Go back and read the sections of the Constitution related to presidential elections in detail. If you really think the founders of this country ever would have given the sitting Vice President the unilateral authority to determine the outcome of a presidential election, you’re delusional.
And please know that Mark Levin is, most definitely, a partisan hack. Remember — this is the guy who was all over the air in 2016 endorsing Ted Cruz in the primaries and pontificating about Cruz’s conservative credentials ... without disclosing that he (Levin) had a blatant conflict of interest because a close family member was working for the Cruz campaign at the time.
The dude was the CIA director in 2017 while fraudulent FISA warrants were still being signed against former Trump associates like Carter Page.

Makes me sick about Pence. If he stabbed Trump in the back and his actions in the last days show this, he needs to get on his sorry knees and ask God for forgiveness!!! He repeatedly said he was a Christian. Christians do not do things like this. It only hurts their testimony with unbelievers when you say one thing and do the other. Really sickens me he acted this way. I lost all respect for the guy. Get on your knees Mike Pence and ask the God you say you believe in for forgiveness of your actions against your boss in the human world, Donald Trump.
