In my opinion every one who committed a crime that day should be charged. Perhaps I am naive, but never in my life did I think I would see such a thing. At an emotional level the House Manager's video is damning. All those people wearing Trump hats attacking Law Enforcement Officers is a disgrace. My God it was hard to watch.
Trump is a polarizing individual. Personally, I have never been a fan but that is my right. He is a chauvinist (perhaps at times a bigot) and always a bully. But that is his nature and you can accept him what he is, or not, that is your perrogative.
He was, however, my president just as Obama was before him, and I respect the office of the president more than the individual. So the question is did Trump incite the riot? To understand, we need to put the House Manager Video into context.
What Trump said vs what was shown: And after this, we’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you, we’re going to walk down, we’re going to walk down. Anyone you want, but I think right here, we’re going to walk down to the Capitol , and we’re going to cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women, and we’re probably not going to be cheering so much for some of them.
Notice the part that was clipped out. So Trump is telling his supporters to walk down and cheer on our brave senators and congressmen and women.
The immediately following clip is of a group of people saying “Let’s take the Capitol” followed by an individual dressed in khakis saying “We are going to the Capitol where our problems are. It is in that direction”. Now you have to appreciate that congress has an approval rating at that time of less than 20%. That means more Fox News watchers believe Biden fairly won the election than they believe Congress is doing a good job. Aside from that, it is important to recognize that this same individual was present when it all started and shows in various locations throughout the day. In fact, he is at the Capitol at the first storming of the gate which occurred between 12:45 and 12:50 PM.
It is a 20 minute walk from where Trump’s speech occurred to the Capitol. This means that the individual had to leave before Trump’s concluding remarks. Given that Trump started at 12:00 PM, would you find the first 20 minutes of his speech to be inciting a riot?
Even if you could conclude that the first 20 minutes were what incited the crowd to storm the Capitol, it does not match well with video from the night before where the same individual was out on the streets trying to stir the pot by saying “We need to take the Capitol”. I saw that video one on elijah schaffer tweets.
The point is, the capitol was under siege before Trump’s speech concluded. It is close to a 20 minute walk to the Capitol so perhaps halfway thru the individual left and headed for the Capitol. While Trump clearly said to be peaceful, this individual had already conclude the night before that there was a need to take the capitol, and was present at the moment it all began.
One final note, the individual is photograph #16 on the FBIs most wanted list. I do not know who he is, but he should be charged with inciting a riot.
“...emotional level the House Manager’s video is damning”
What are you talking about?
Many felt invited in by capitol police. They were guven tours. They were unaware they were breaking a law.
Imprison them but not thousands of violent antifa and blm?
Who planted bombs befor Trump started speaking?
anyone remember Chuck Schumer leading the insurrection against the Supreme Court, shouting violent encouragement to the out of control mob ?

Trump's enemies are trying hard to paint him as the inciter of the riot, with no freedom of speech at all, worse than someone who frivolously yells "Fire!" in a crowded theater, responsible for many deaths, etc. It's all fabrication, but people need to be able to discern that.
They already have their little script to follow and who cares about the facts.
Who started beating down doors before Trump stopped speaking?
First Amendment protected political speech has been politically inflamatory in every generation. Why is Trump’s inflamatory political speech more dire and convictable than Schumer’s?
Nothing I’ve seen about Jan 6 warrants this amount of attention.
It looked like many other political protests, that have taken place in America since 1775.
One thing I’ve noticed about Trump’s enemies. They see and hear things, that I can’t see or hear. Whether it was Mueller or the 1st & 2nd impeachment farces, they completely lost me with their reasoning.
Youve seen it plenty of times. Antifa stormed the whitehouse. Democrat groups stormed the capitol many times over the years. What Trump said is boiler plate rhetoric. NOTHING he said can be “incitement.”

Video was spliced and diced to match the narrative and it looks like it did what it was supposed to do...
I wonder if all those in Trump or Red hats are Trump supporters?
want to see something hard to watch?
Chicago police release video footage of protests at Columbus statue.
Be sure to keep the sound on. From 1:00 to the 7 minute mark.

As if donning a Trump hat makes someone a Trump supporter. Someone needs a dunce cap.

Regarding activity at Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, anti-Trumpers still haven’t addressed my posts questioning what is argued to be a costumed Antifa member being given a personal tour of Senate chambers by Capitol building security guard.
Senators at that time were probably in Joint Session of Congress in Hall of House of Representatives watching Pence count electoral votes.
