He fought til the end. A sustained absence was a large, if unwelcome, sign that he was in the final days.
I can’t thank him enough and respect his incredible effort at staying on the job even when he probably should have been enjoying all the time he could - but he said many times he wanted to be there so he was.
Ignore the nasty stuff they’ll say and look at the staggering influence and legacy he leaves.
