Manages?
My fireplace is the only dependable commodity in my house over the past week. That and what was a cord of wood.
I had plenty of wood but it was at the farm and covered with snow.
I have a new old stock from year ago, Modern Franklin heater (with thermostat controlled forced fan circulation where power is available). Bought but never installed. Change of plans many years ago. Those are more efficient than the huge brick fireplaces that I have in town and at the farm. It will be utilized some time this year.
Fireplace inserts really make a difference too.
