It doesn’t because nothing is by merit these days....rather “colorism” is now the advantage. However most employers do not maintain data on employees’ skin color. ...therefore for example, an employee would not have the statistical evidence to support a claim that a company was promoting more light skinned workers than dark skinned employees...or that of race.
Interesting is “Lighter is better” in darker skinned cultures, color discrimination is inherent in countries such as Africa, India, Pakistan, and South America. This is why the largest selling skin care products in these nations are skin lightner lotions and treatments.
Also interesting is the most typical scenario of color discrimination involves lighter skinned African Americans discriminating against darker skinned African Americans, color bias cases also have been brought within other groups, including Native Americans and Arabs.

It won’t; they understand they can’t tell whole groups of people they just “don’t fit”, so they have to play out this whole charade to pretend assimilation works. The problem is that when you have set-asides, the most able of the “preferred classes” take all of the set-aside slots (usually Hispanics and white or Asian women). An acquaintance described to me how Hispanic men were to be quietly removed from consideration for a certain state agency; they were getting all of the set-aside slots on their merits, and there weren’t any blacks getting them.
