The Republican Party was formed in 1852 as the Whig Party was dying. Only 8 years later the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, was elected.
History shows if the new party has enduring core principles, and strong leadership, it will prevail. If the new party is purely the vehicle for one man to run for office (Teddy Roosevelt Bull Moose Party, Ross Perot’s Reform Party, it will expire quickly.
What we do know today is the Republican Party has no core principles (conservatism is just window dressing) and excluding Trump its leadership is abysmal. There is no reason today to vote for 90% of the Republicans serving in Congress and in state positions other than to keep a Democrat from winning the job. What a poor excuse for a political party when your mission is to be the lesser of two evils.
Interesting question would be:
How many independents, third party or Democrats would switch?

The current GOPe is just the Dem party fake opposition. Consider that between Reagan and Trump there have been two GOPe presidents, both of them Bush. Both of them elites. There’s something very wrong with that.

Are you aware the RB Hayes and M Fillmore were elected as a third party nomination?
They cheated with the chinese across nine states to steal the presidency and two senate seats, these are just tge ones we know for sure

They do not count the Democrats and independents who voted for Trump. I think he can get a majority in an honest election. The old Republican Party will become the 3rd party.

They control the current GOP (with their consent) and also the vote counting. Literally would make no difference unless the machine that selected Biden is destroyed.

For crying out loud! How short is everyone’s memory? We gave the republicans the white house, the senate and the house of reps just a few years back. They did everything they could to keep from even throwing us a bone. bush(both of the scum), boehner, ryan, mcconnel, mccain, graham... what is it going to take?
Oh... I’m pretty sure that “2-1 margin” is well over “half”. Just sayin.
