While Whole Foods imagery touted that in 2019, the coronavirus pandemic that began in Wuhan later that year punctured efforts to convince the public that health is a moral or economic issue - you owe it to your kids to buy overpriced food. SARS-CoV-2 and the COVID-19 pandemic showed that eating expensive onions won't save anyone from anything.
What may help save people is remembering the past rather than wishful thinking about the present. In this case, looking back at the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic which killed far more than COVID-19.
A new epidemiology paper uses statistical data in Michigan to create three or even four "waves" of that pandemic.
After the pandemic hit in March 1918, the assumption was that things had passed as weather warmed and there were fewer cases. But then a second spike hit in October 1918 as weather cooled and then Michigan banned public gatherings. Three weeks later, the cases went down and the ban was lifted, but in December another wave hit.
The ban did not stop the flu, it delayed it.

First wave was in the northeast in late winter/spring of 2020. Second wave was in the sunbelt during the summer of 2020. Third wave happened everywhere but we saw it the most in the Midwest and the West during late fall/early winter of 2020 (ending shortly after New Years).

The 1889 Russian coronavirus pandemic lasted until 1890. A million people died out of a world population of 1 Billion.
It’s amazing that were following the same pattern as the 1918 flu and all of our science did NOTHING to stop it.
Maybe saved a few million lives with treatment.
The world is different now. The 1918 flu started in the USA. our troops were sick in the USA and then sick soldiers were sent overseas where many died on our ships then infected others in Europe. The transit time back then was by ships, not 747’s. War is hell and Conditions there were horrible. People living on the edge due to war had weakened immune systems and died quickly and had limited access to health care. And the bug was far different. It killed the younger and healthier people versus the aged population. Masks are widely suspected as being huge contributors to making the virus worse.
Government: “We’d like to inject you full of some ... stuff.”
People” “No way! Are you crazy?? That stuff has barely been tested! I have no idea what it even does!”
Government: “Have we mentioned there is a pandemic? It’s nothing like the Spanish Flu of 1918, but we plan to run a bunch of articles that sort of imply this one is really, really deadly.”
People: “Really? Can I be first in line for that vaccine?”
Government: “It’s a funny vaccine. You can still get the disease. You can still spread the vaccine. And you still need to wear a mask. But we would like to inject you full of some ... stuff.”
People: “Absolutely!”
This article is just agitprop to prepare us for recurring shutdowns through 2023.
The Democrats will destroy our economy so they can replace it with communism. This is just how they’ll bring about the crisis they need to justify extreme action.
A buddy and his wife got the vaccine. I told them it’s more of a medical treatment since it doesn’t make you immune from wuflu. She nearly spun her head around linda Blair style when disagreeing.
