EV market share will increase, driven by governmental pressure, but it will be virtually impossible to power a huge EV fleet without a wholesale commitment to nuclear generation. And that is not on the horizon.
Yeah, I don’t think the implications of transitioning from a gas model, which has been in place for a century, to an electric model are largely unknown. Electric companies will need to build more plants, which takes time and money (and will probably still use fossil fuels); gas tax revenues will plummet, which means the government will start taxing drivers by the mile; and the cost of operating vehicles will rise.
