Leaving aside the fact that Khasoggi is a terrorist supporting the overthrow of the Saudi monarchy killed on Saudi soil in a terror supporting state, Turkey thus none of our business, two things strike me.

Biden's policy to deal with Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud rather than Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman is ironic given the fact that SBA transferred power to MBS due to the fact he's suffering from dementia. A smart move.

And it's accurate to describe it as pre-dementia. Birds of a feather, the Big Guy and SBA? The assumption that he was somehow clueless, or opposed, is absurd.

I realize Khashoggi didn’t get what he wanted, but he didn’t have to go to pieces over it.

My guess — Khashoggi was a CIA, or somebody’s, agent. The new leader, MbS, wanted threats to his control, and foreign channels to his opposition within the ruling elite, eliminated.

He did it rather clumsily.

Left out, though irrelevant imo, he was not a Washington Post employee. Just an occasional opinion contributor.
