so, the guy that designed the f-16 and the a-10 says that the plane that is replacing them both isn’t as good as the old stuff . . . that he designed.

Pierre Spey is a crank. He did not design either aircraft. He was a consultant. And the F-16 the airforce bought is not the F-16 that Spey and the rest of the “Fighter-Mafia” were pushing — which was essentially a US version of the MiG-21.
