‘Higher’ education a threat to America: Even More than COVID, They are the single biggest threat to Western civilization
American Thinker ^ | 03/07/2021 | Eric Utter

Posted on 03/07/2021 10:51:00 AM PST by SeekAndFind

American colleges and universities pose an existential threat to our nation that hosts and so lavishly supports them. In fact, they are the single biggest threat to Western civilization, now over 2,000 years old.

If you are like most people, you probably think the previous two sentences were overly bold, hyperbolic, preposterous. Maybe even crazy. And you would be wrong. The rot emanating from institutions of higher learning in the United States is more dangerous even than the coronavirus. The virus of wokeism eats away its hosts’ mental capacity and renders them ignorant, bitter, hostile, unstable, overly emotional and intellectually impotent. COVID-19 will eventually disappear, but the brain damage inflicted by today’s universities likely will not. Neither mask mandates nor social distancing can protect us from the ravages loosed on us by modern American academia. Lockdowns don’t work, either. All of these may, in fact, be symptoms of the disease they have wrought.

This is unspeakably sad, as these self-same institutions once existed in large part to challenge and enlighten students and introduce them to the great works of Western civilization and the foundational principles of American society and Judeo-Christian ethics. They taught students how best to think, not what to think. Like a free and impartial press, these institutions were once beneficial-- indeed critical-- to the health of a free democratic republic. We have neither now.

Today’s colleges and universities serve only to further the goals of their elitist benefactors by indoctrinating their charges into a ubiquitous and homogenous Marxist mindset, one at loggerheads with the notion of a free, democratic republic based on the rule of law and governed by, of, and for the people.

Today’s colleges and universities give lip service to “tolerance,” fawn over “diversity,” and purport to be open and welcoming to all.

The two biggest threats to America are the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Propaganda.

Yes -Today’s public education is an extreme threat to our existence. That is why I don’t understand the big push to ‘reopen schools’.

The Federal Government has No Business involved in schools period!
That should be left to the residents, towns, cities and states.
No where does the Constitution mention schools.
This is more government overreach.
It’s past time for the states to get together and reel in the Federal Government once and for all.....

Symbiotic relationship. Neither one could exist as is without the other.

We can thank the Ivy League for the orginal poison.

The two greatest think-tanks of all time, the Lyceum and the Academy, were noted for the debates that served as the touchstone to the intellect. Today we have the Ivy League. What a horrific comparison.

Not just “higher ed.” Kids as young as grammar school are being indoctrinated with perversion and communism. This is necessary for them to be ripe fodder when they hit “higher ed.”

The single, biggest threat to America is supidity.

Correct. And a good deal of this stupidity emanates from so-called "Institutions of higher learning".

The state of America in 2021 is the primary result of leftists “educating” k-12 students for the last 50 years or so. It’s not the sole cause but it all starts with this.

Trump’s DoED Investigation Found That U.S. Universities Have Taken $1.3 Billion From Russia, China, Qatar
Big League Politics ^ | 12/14/19 | Shane Trejo

Posted on 12/15/2019, 6:37:39 AM by grimalkin

The Department of Education (DoED) is conducting an investigation into foreign governments funding U.S. universities, and they have found that governments such as Russia, China and Qatar have given them a staggering $1.3 billion.

The universities under review include the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Texas A&M, Cornell, the University of Maryland, Georgetown, and Rutgers. Acting general counsel Reed Rubinstein called the initial findings very “disturbing” in a letter to the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, the Education Department.

“I tell people not send their kids to an American universities.”

Just out of curiosity, where would you suggest they go? It seems to me that education everywhere in the English speaking world is having the same problem. But, I am confident there is none of it in China. It remains to be seen if they are as generous in accepting our students as we have been in accepting theirs.

"Higher Education" is not the problem. "Woke" faculty (and students) who have abandoned critical thinking and reasoning skills are the problem. The solution is simple: If the administration of the college your student attends does not model logical analysis and purge the woke "social justice" anathema from the school, parents should stop paying tuition. If an older student want to pay their hard earned tuition money for dross like that, then let them learn the hard way...

I’ve been listening to John McWhorter, the top linguist in the country by some accounts. He is at Columbia and no conservative, but has very keen insight.

Well worth a bit of youtube time.
