President Joe Biden signed an executive order directing federal agencies to take a series of steps to promote voting access, a move that comes as congressional Democrats press for a sweeping voting and elections bill to counter efforts to restrict voting access.
Biden announced the order during a recorded address on the 56th commemoration of “Bloody Sunday,” the 1965 incident in which some 600 civil rights activists were viciously beaten by state troopers as they tried to march for voting rights in Selma, Alabama.
“Every eligible voter should be able to vote and have it counted,” Biden said in his remarks to Sunday’s Martin and Coretta King Unity Breakfast before signing the order. “If you have the best ideas, you have nothing to hide. Let the people vote.”

Our country is broken. Too many bad ideas have taken hold that are difficult, if not impossible, to reverse.

Those with the strongest will to win usually do.
Joe wants federal employees to get time off to work as NON-PARTISAN volunteer poll workers. There are not any non-partisan federal employees.
Bear in mind also that the U.S. Supreme Kangaroo Court enabled what is about to happen to our republic.
Once and only once in his voting precinct. And zero for people ineligible to vote. And one of the ways to verify those is having a photo ID matching the voter with his registered and verified information.
Multiple voting and illegal voting are just as bad as having gun wielding thugs outside the polling place preventing people from entering.
Thank God the Banana Republicans are fighting for us....

The President does not have to authority to do this. The states can ignore it.
Very true. The Democrats work off the principle of never giving a sucker an even break. But the Republicans have convinced their suckers[voters] that they will clean the streets with Democrats in 2022. And a Republican will safely ensconced in the White House again in 2024. Should one pay attention, it sounds like the “Elect me and I will repeal obamacare” they used so successfully.
Allowing newborns to vote is a backdoor attack on a woman’s right to abortion!
Oh we are, without any doubt, a third world banana republic now. The system is thoroughly corrupt and unaccountable.
The Coup will only be reversed if things get intolerably bad, and people start feeling some combination of personal pain and fear, which is quite likely IMO.
It takes a long time for bad things to work their way out of a system. We are in for a prolonged period of unsettled times.
Do what you can to protect yourself. Gonna be a rough ride.
So, on the anniversary of the Selma disaster, let’s make the vote of each Black person a little less secure.
