Fisherman’s Wharf (downtown at water’s edge) used to be a big attraction and go to spot years ago. I don’t even know if it was still in operation before the pandemic. I haven’t been in years. Last time I went (1990’s) my group wanted to stop by The Christmas Shop. Open year around. That’s probably gone.

My wife and I visited several times in the late 80's/early 90's when she had relatives in Oakland. We loved it. It was like we were walking through the movie Vertigo. Rode the cable cars, too. Neither of us have the slightest urge to ever set foot there again.

If someone has ever had any good memories about Christmas or that part of the year, stepping into that store will bring them all back. Starting with the faint scent of pine and cranberry candles, at least when I went there.
