Unless feds are looking to indict him or he’s got a terminal illness him I do not believe that Mitch would resign.

There were some pictures of him with extremely bruised hands that could be a sign of a health issue.

He wouldn’t. But, the GOP holds veto-proof majorities in the KY state legislature. So, the veto becomes moot.

Ah, thank you for the info.

I dont agree with the age limit,

but the bottom line is that a complete reset of the government and how it operates is in order. All government agencies need to be revamped and held accountable to the people.

term limits is just the tip of the problematic iceberg

no one should be allowed more then 18 years in congress with the exception of the majority/minority leader who can stay for 24 years. or something like that!

It is my understanding, as was explained at a GOP meeting, the KY Senate would vote on the replacement in all future vacancies where a KY U.S. Senator cannot finish their term.

I am following the advice to start making a difference locally. I highly encourage everyone to do the same if at all possible. Just show up and do what you are comfortable doing.

Its been a long journey for both parties. And I have only been witness to the last 50+ years. I think the journey began prior to that as well, but I do recall when the major differences between parties was social issues (welfare and taxes). Both had common ground in national defense and foreign policy. Both would call out their own for illegal activities, fraud, etc. Carter was naive, weak, and foolish, but no crook. It was the Clintons who popularized bad behavior, and it has rapidly gone downhill since then. Bush represented NWO, not conservatives or 'the people'. Obama was a populist radical and a crook.

Today, neither party represents its constituents. I firmly believe that there are only 30% who really believe in the socialist agenda and the rest are either conservative or at least see the insanity of the left. But elected dems only care about the radical agenda, and elected pubs only care about the next election and who is lining their pockets. Both have condoned the corruption of the election system. A major house cleaning is due.

The only difference between Mitch and Pelosi is about 10 liters of Botox!

We were already facing bad numbers of Republicans up for election in 2022 and now we’re getting a spate of retirements that is going to make it very difficult to stay even much less gain ground.

The Founders also never imagined that illegals would invade the country, our culture would become grotesquely debased, and that voting would devolve into an uncontrolled mess.

Our little experiment in self rule was nice while it lasted.

Thanks for the info. And yes, that’s good advice. Taking back the GOP has to start at the bottom for the change to endure.

Missouri has had term limits at the state level for several years. I have wondered if anyone has done an analysis comparing before term limits with after term limits. I tend to think the government and its functioning has done pretty well since term limits.

… future in GOP politics where the Republicans of old and their way of doing business seems destined to be vanquished from the party…

Trump revolution? It’s about time!

Hello.....
Is anyone home?????
The 2022/2024 elections mean nothing.
First of all.... Who Is Counting The Votes?
Did anyone notice the coup that occured last November?
Does anyone notice the fencing and lockdown in DC.
There has been a successful coup.
This IS a third world country, not yet a shithole. But it sure as hell will be.
Evil has taken over.
So, what was being said about upcoming elections?

McConnell is the classic poster child for TERM LIMITS!

I’m not in favor of Term Limits. As bad as McConnnell may be, residents of KY still get to have a referendum on him every 6 years

Where term limits are needed are in the Deep State - the Federal Bureaucrats and permanent programs. James Comey and John Brennan used their power to conduct a coup against Trump - have they ever been subject to an election or public scrutiny? Jerome Powell decides how many $Trillions are printed up to fund progressive social-engineering schemes run by government? Sure, he was confirmed by the Senate, but has he ever had to take his ideas to the public?

I think you get my point.

“There were some pictures of him with extremely bruised hands that could be a sign of a health issue.”

Old age causes what is commonly called, “capillary fragility” and the slightest little bump or scratch can cause that bruising effect.

.....Also have an age limit of 70 years of age......

Don’t agree with that! Some 75-year-olds are sharp as a tack, with experience and wisdom we need in the US Senate! Others are of course tired or demented.

And maybe a three-term limit wold be better than two!
