That’s news to me re: tinnitus leading to suicide. I’ve had moderate to severe tinnitus for years and just ignore it and go about my life. Hearing loss in one ear, doctors don’t know the cause.

You say ‘moderate to severe’ tinnitus and that you just ignore it. I have moderate tinnitus screaming always, even this very second.
You really have never had severe tinnitus. That could drive you mad. And from your callous tending tone, you are one of the ‘lucky’ sufferers.
Now turning my music to 11 to hide it. Hearing aids pretend to help.
I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
Not everyone handles it well. It’s a well known phenomenon that is there is a connection between suicide and tinnitus.

Sleep Deprivation: It’s called Sleep Deprivation.
You apparently don’t have it that loud where it can literally keep you from falling asleep.
When one falls asleep out of sheer exhaustion, they will wake up when the brain or body decides it’s had enough sleep. HOWEVER, that is usually at the very lowest level of sleep.
If you suffer this over years, it will drive your reasoning out the freaking window.
Sorry to sound so blunt.
