Some of those non-profits pay their senior managers salaries in the $500,000 per year range and have lots of staff. They get rich while being admired for running a "non-profit." At least, that is how it works in California and I'm sure the non-profit ethics aren't much different in Texas.
No, a big chunk of that money is to compensate for damages.
You know: building campfires on the living room carpet, knocking holes in the wall, cockroach-infestations, etc.
